Finally

So I'm back. For now. Hopefully

I realize it has been awhile and much has happened since I've last posted. So much that I don't even remember. But on my first weekend back I realized how much I had missed New York City. Cause only here can one discarded couch provide so much entertainment.

@3:00pm I wandered back from bunch, on the phone, and watched this poor hobo find the most relaxing place in all of hoboland to take a afternoon nap.

@5:00pm when I took out the garbage the hobo seemed to have been booted but replaced a pair of legs

Legs with a message.

@11:00pm The legs seemed to have been stolen along with the mattress.

@10:00am The couch, still a safe haven, got a pillow and a self help book.

For Jie

Employment came my way in the form of short film by Hiroshi Hara. I had a great time on this shoot and it has definitely reinvigorated me. The shoot was only two days but so much fun, the whole crew was so friendly and considerate, the shoot went smoothly which, as everyone knows, is just crazy. The photos below are some shots of the art/production design that I did. Yay!

I turned poor Mune's bedroom into a dilapidated Chinese studio. There was a slight fiasco with the location, but even that ended up working out quite effortlessly. Originally, we were supposed to shoot in Newark in this guys basement. When we got there to dress the set it was disgusting: moldy, bug infested, filled with stuff, smelly...etc So basically the day before we were set to shoot we rushed to change locations and Mune was nice enough to volunteer his neatly kept apartment.

Monday's location was heaven compared to Sundays. While Mune's apt was nice and clean, it was a 6'-0" ceiling height with a very small kitchen for holding. The pics below show a redress of Sasha's uncles place in Flushing. I changed it from a basic living room set up to show a Chinese style dining room dressed for the welcoming of a new baby. Who knew all the things I thought were ridiculous growing up would come in handy for a job.

Installation

Mori and I went to Carrie's installation in Williamsburg. I can't remember much from it because I got so hungry and was also overwhelmed by all the people I hadn't seen in ages.
Some snap shots:

Corn

Corn. Who doesn't LOVE corn. I love corn everything-- corn on the cob, corn kernels, corn chips, corn bread, corn in salad, corn on pasta, corn....

This section of the NJ mall was catered towards me. Nearby they had a do-it-yourself t-shirt store that happened to be making a MOOOO shirt and:

If you can't tell. That's a flemish giant. I mean you guys all must remember Herman, right? Well, I guess he's more like Herman's friend RUDI. But I mean these are some LARGE bunns.

They also had plexi boxes full of smaller bunns. They were all snuggling in bunn igloos, in bunn piles, all bunned up. I was evil and uncovered them hoping to see them all go hopping.

Cutest bunn ever. Mr Bunny Bernard
